I've now covered 80km in my Trail Devils and can say that these shoes are bad news for my old speed goats. As an all-round trail shoe they easily match my old shoes, but are so much more roomier and are significantly cheaper. I will definitely be buying more of these shoes in future. My only (minor) complaint is that they are predominantly black. More color choices in future would be great.
Hands down the best trail shoes I've owned. Comfy, supportive and durable. Worth every dollar.
Men's Tarkine Trail Devil Running Shoe
This shoe is by far the best trail running shoe I have ever run in. I truly appreciate how snug the shoe feels. The upper material is versatile, soft and breathable. I love the materials used for the tongue, providing enough comfort to where you don't feel too much pressure from the laces on the upper foot. Wider toe box means happier feet on the trail. The toe box gives my toes the opportunity to truly experience the trail. The foam midsole is unlike anything I have ever tried. It's so soft and protective I didn't even feel a slight puncture in the shoe by a tree branch!? The outsoles lug system provides the best traction possible, however I think having a full one piece rubber without any exposure to the midsole would take this shoe to a whole other level. I only say that since a tree branch punctured an exposed area that the rubber outsole didn't cover. Overall this is still the best trail shoe I have ever had. I'm super impressed by this shoe and how well it can handle the mileage and terrain.
These shoes have a nice secure fit with a wide toe box, great for use with toe-socks. The cushioning is nice without being over-done. I found them good for both up and downhill running. Also, light enough for reps on trials. My only complaint is that they are slippery on wet hard surfaces like rocks and footpaths. This reduces my rating from 5 to 4 stars.
The free pair of Goshawk1 are also good shoes for both road and mild trails. Good fit and cushioning AND good on hard wet surfaces. A great deal!
